Romeo and Juliet...Happy Endings
SCENE: Romeo tries to drink the poison given by the Apothecary Romeo baffled by the day's events, stumbles into Juliet's tomb. As he walks slowly toward his beloveds grave, his eyes become fuzzy: a tear starts to fall down his cheek. Romeo sees her ghostly white face, her perfect lips, longing for them, for her with all his being. Death seems to have done nothing, if not enhance her beauty. Yet, there is something life-like in her pale face. He gently touch his hands om her cheeks, absorbing every detail in her faultless figure. More tears appear on the stone covered floor beside his dearly loved. Whispering a prayer under his breath, he procures a short thin glass tube from the lining of his coat: a deadly poison. With the words of the apothecary ringing in his head, he slowly raises liquid to his quivering lips. Her eye lids flicker; he abruptly stops the poisons journey toward his mouth.
